Residents from across Burton upon Trent turned out in force, as the weather stayed kind for Playday 2014, the national day for play in the UK on Wednesday 6th August.

The afternoon of free activities offered by East Staffordshire Borough Council and support by a range of local partner organisations, saw attendances reach record levels, with over 4000 children and families enjoying the fun.

Children and their families had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities including, face painting, sports activities, music sessions, circus skills, arts and crafts and much much more.

Councillor Robert Hardwick, Deputy Leader for Cultural Services, said: “Playday was an opportunity for local children to get out and play during the school holidays. Children and their families had a great free day and the 4,000 children and families made this Playday the best ever”
