Our Claymore re-enactment group takes Tutbury Castle back to the 18th century, as Jacobite forces from Bonnie Prince Charlie occupy the Castle. The year is 1745, with thrilling dramas and battles.
This fantastic living history display will provide fun for all the family. There will be display on how the plaid (kilt) was put on and worn, musketry fire, skill at arms with swords and much more.
The Great Hall will be open with guided tours as well as our pretty tea room serving a range of hot and cold food – all reasonably priced.

Itinerary:
11.30am Drilling and musket training – Along with firing and introduction to units (LARGE ARENA)
12.00pm Presentation on Stewarts of Appin and the Jacobite rebellion (SMALL ARENA)
12.30pm Presentation on Stewarts of Appin and the Jacobite rebellion (SMALL ARENA)
1.30pm See how the Plaid (kilt) was put on (SMALL ARENA)
2.30pm Sword display of fighting moves with the highland broadsword (SMALL ARENA)
3.30pm Clan sword training (LARGE ARENA)
4.30pm Final show of the day with firing of muskets, Highland charge and sword fighting to find the champion of the day.
