Classic Motorcycle Rally

Sunday 10th August

If you come to visit The National Brewery Centre ( on a standard day visit Ticket) on Sunday 10th August – as well as the normal attractions – you will also be able to see a rally of about 250 AJS and Matchless 250 classic motorcycles (on-site 1pm – 3pm approx.)

The AJS and Matchless Owners Club was founded in 1952. From those early days our Club has carried on expanding and now has some 4,200 plus members on a worldwide basis. At present the Club consists of 36 UK based sections and 23 international sections with over 4,200 members, who live in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A., Denmark, France, Norway and Sweden, to name only a few. We are truly an international club.

Each year a section hosts the “Jampot” Rally. (“Jampot” is reference to a nickname given to a unique rear suspension unit used by the manufacturers). This year the East Midlands Section is organising the rally.  Sections like to give visiting members a flavour of their local heritage and the organising committee jumped at the chance of visiting the National Brewery Centre for a lunch stop.

We will be arriving at approx. 1.00 p.m. on Sunday 10th August and will leave a couple of hours later. We are anticipating circa 250 machines covering models from the 1920’s onwards.
