World class sax man Art Themen is back at Jazz on Tap! Art was involved with the Brit trad-jazz scene in Manchester during the late 1950’s and then with more modern offerings when he attended Cambridge University in the early sixties. He has worked alongside some of the greatest in a wide range of jazz styles including Alexis Korner, Cream’s Jack Bruce, Chuck Berry, Mick Jagger and others. The incredibly popular Mr Themen performs this month with the fabulous Rob Terry Trio rhythm section. Following his retirement from medicine, Art now concentrates full time on his first love – JAZZ!
He has a full-blooded, yet lyrical tone, swings like there’s no tomorrow and he’s one of the best raconteurs in the business – expect a fun packed musical evening.
