SUPPORTERS of charities in Burton upon Trent are this month (May, 2013) being invited to nominate their organisations to be considered for a donation from a national firm.

Schumacher UK plans to select the charity or charities with the most votes to receive donations and will discuss the next steps with them regarding promoting their organisation.

Ian Garwood, Director at Schumacher UK, which is based in Somerset, said: “We’d really like to link with a charity that is often overlooked by bigger firms. We know there are so many worthy causes out there that are struggling for funds so this is a great opportunity for people to get their cause noticed.

“We are hoping the general public will get in touch and tell us who they feel would best benefit from our support and why.”

Schumacher UK offers products to motor trade companies and professionals, including Schumacher ‘SpeedCharge’ battery chargers and Schumacher memory savers.

Ian continued: “We are especially keen to have nominations for charities that might benefit from one of our products, so perhaps rescue charities or a charity that uses vehicles to carry out its work.”

People from Burton upon Trent can nominate their charity of choice via the company’s Twitter page, www.twitter.com/SchumacherUK or by emailing sales@schumacheruk.com. The closing date for nominations is 12midnight on Friday, July 26, 2013.

The company, which has the motto ‘Faster, Smarter, Safer’, has been designing and manufacturing battery chargers and associated equipment in the USA since 1947. It works with some of the world’s largest battery and vehicle manufacturers to constantly strive to build the best products on the market.

Ian added: “We’re looking forward to having nominations for as many charities as possible and the winners will be the ones that get nominated the most. It would be great if organisations got their supporters to get in touch with us to put them forward.”

Charities that are nominated and nominees will be expected to take part in publicity and individuals can only vote once for their charity of choice.

Nominations are only accepted from people aged 18 and over and the company’s decision on the charity/charities selected is final, no correspondence will be entered into.
