Several slots are available at each centre for customers to use.  These must be booked in advance by contacting the Washlands Fitness Centre at the Meadowside Leisure Centre in Burton on Trent or the Main Reception at Uttoxeter Leisure Centre.

During the health check the instructor will make note of your weight, height, body mass index and blood pressure.  They will then use this information to offer you some lifestyle advice which will hopefully lead to an improved and healthy standard of living.

Mark Rizk Shared Service Centre Manager (Leisure, Sports & Culture) said that: “People with diabetes should be encouraged to exercise regularly to improve blood sugar control and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The reason for this is that muscles which are working use more glucose than those that are resting.

Additional benefits of exercise include a healthier heart, better weight control and stress management.”
