Are you a community or voluntary group in Burton on Trent and East Staffordshire looking for funding? If so, September sees the launch of the application process for East Staffordshire Borough Council’s annual grant aid scheme.
To be eligible for Grant Aid voluntary and community organisations must:

  •     Assist and support residents of East Staffordshire
  •     Be able to describe the need for the project or service
  •     Support the aims and objectives of East Staffordshire Borough Council, including the priorities set out in the Council’s Corporate Plan:
  •         Relevant and better value services
  •         Encouraging local enterprise
  •         Enhancing lives throughout the borough
  •     Be ‘open and honest’; have sound management, employment and financial procedures

This year, the Council increased its funding by 8% in comparison with 2011/12, distributing over £235,000 to community and voluntary groups in East Staffordshire.
Councillor Richard Grosvenor, Leader of the Council, said: “The Council has always valued the contribution community and voluntary groups make to the people of East Staffordshire and in a time when councils are reviewing their expenditure in this area we are proud to maintain and where possible increase our support.”

Andy O’Brien, Chief Executive, added: “This a great opportunity for both voluntary and community groups to apply for grants to continue their work within East Staffordshire.”

Applications for the financial year April 2013 to March 2014 must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 14th December 2012.
