East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Sports Development Team have organised a series of Sportivate Netball session at Shobnall Leisure Complex.

The Netball sessions will take place every Wednesday, from 5.30pm – 6.30pm, with the next session scheduled for Wednesday 1st August. Each session will cost £1.00.
Netball action.
In total, there will be 24 weeks of Sportivate Netball coaching. Sportivate is a natural scheme managed by Sport England and distributed by Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent to East Staffordshire Borough Council.  The Sportivate programme aims to get more 14 – 25 year olds regularly participating in sporting activities in the local community.

Players do not have to have any experience of the game or worry that they are letting the side down; it is just a fun session that aims to get more people playing sport, while improving their health and fitness. The coach will introduce a new skill each week followed by a friendly game at the end of the session.

Councillor David Leese, Deputy Leader for Partnerships, said: “Netball is a great way to get fit and have fun. Although the project is aimed at 16-25 year olds everybody is welcome from school leavers to mums who have not played the game for a few years. There will be no team sheet, just good fun, turn up with loose fitting clothing, trainers and water and a desire to get fitter!”
