Rush Hockey comes back to Burton upon Trent!

It’s fast, it’s furious; the new era of hockey is back.

Do you crave the rush of a team sport, but can’t find the time to commit to one? Now there’s a game that fits around your hectic lifestyle; Rush Hockey is here!

As part of its ongoing commitment to the Healthy Borough initiative, East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Sport Development Team is excited to bring back Rush Hockey for its second year. The taster sessions will inject excitement and adrenaline back into the lives of local hockey players and non-hockey players throughout this summer.

The Rush Hockey sessions will take place every Wednesday evening from Wednesday 4th June to Wednesday 16th July 2014, between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm at Shobnall Leisure Complex. The sessions are open to everyone over 16 years.

Developed by the England Hockey Board (EHB), Rush Hockey is set to attract a new generation of player. Not only will it welcome all abilities but past and present players, male and female hockey players and non-hockey players will enjoy the thrill of the new format, in the way that hundreds of recreational players have become hooked on 5 a-side football.

Rush Hockey is just what we need in East Staffordshire to remind us how much fun the sport can be. It’s a great way to play whether you are new to the sport or play regularly. It tackles lack of time with 40 minute games and diminishes fitness worries with smaller pitches.

Rush Hockey is furiously fast, fun and simple to play. If you would like to come and ‘feel the Rush’ please come and join us. The games will be played outdoors so please wear suitable clothing. Hockey sticks will be provided.
