King Richard is fighting in the Crusades and has left his brother the weak and shifty Prince John in charge of England. The Sheriff of Nottingham has stolen land and property and has increased taxes to unacceptable levels. He is intending to depose of Tommy, the rightful heir to Nottingham castle, and by marrying Marion his sister claim the title and lands. Robin Hood meanwhile has been stripped of his land and estates and is living the life of an outlaw in Sherwood Forest.

Can Robin, Nanny Muffin, Little John, Will Scarlet and all the Merry Men outwit the evil Sheriff and scheming Prince John, save the babes and keep England safe until the return of good King Richard.

This is a traditional family pantomime with all the usual ingredients. Songs, dance, lots of audience participation and brim full of jokes and slapstick to entertain all ages. If you are a fan of pantomime you will surely enjoy this one. It is written and directed by Mick Gaunt.

The award winning Chellaston Players have been successfully performing pantomimes and plays in Chellaston and Derby Guild Hall for 35 years. They were nominated for 4 Eagle Awards at the 2012 annual Derby Amateur Awards celebration and ‘Aladdin’ directed by Greg Lunn and written by Mick Gaunt won an Eagle for best pantomime. Mick was also honoured by being awarded the Eagle for exceptional services to amateur theatre.

This will be their second appearance at Burton Brewhouse.
