Former BBC Folk Singer of the Year, and winner of two Sony Radio
Academy Awards Jez Lowe has built a reputation as a writer and
performer of witty, comic folk songs as well as lyrical ballads. With
more than a dozen albums and countless live performances, he is
recognised as a musical ambassador for his native North East England.
Originally from Easington Colliery, many of his own songs tell of the
rise and fall of the colliery towns and villages, and the characters
and community spirit that kept the wheels turning.
These Coal Town Days will be an entertaining night, with stunning
musicianship as this four piece band takes you on a journey through
the best of Jez’s coal-songs new and old
