Join everyone at Claymills Victorian Pumping Station for one of their numurous steaming events. Particular highlights include: Engines in steam on site, two 80 tonne beam engines 5 storey’s high, steam powered engineering workshop, a fully operational Steam Powered Electrical Generator – the oldest in the country, Blacksmith’s Forge and Joiner’s Shop, a working Victorian bath house, plus 24 other original stationary steam engines on display.
The Steaming Events at Claymills Victorian Pumping Station incorporates fun for all the family – including activities such as: operating a steam engine, hands-on model making, children’s Victorian dressing-up corner, time capsule ~ follow the rat trail, miniature steam engine rides, woodwork and woodturning demonstrations and learning how metals are made from stone! Light refreshments are also available. in addition to a second hand book stall.
