‘Carousel’ is one of Rodgers and Hammersteins most popular musicals and is certainly a favourite of Burton Operatic Society. The whole spectrum of musical theatre is performed in this delightful show.
Energetic chorus numbers include ‘ June is busting out all over’ and ‘Clambake’ alongside the beautiful ‘If I loved you’ and ‘You’ll never walk alone’ and of course the very meaningful ‘Soliloquy’.
Principal roles are taken by Lee Smith, Christina Bailey, Andrew Last, Lindsey Biddle, Oly Wright and Angela Wynne. The company and cast have been rehearsing hard under the direction of Steven Foster and Musical Director David Blackwell.
If you have never seen ‘Carousel’ before you will enjoy a show full of emotion, drama and wonderful music.
