THE AUTHOR
Born in Burton in 1948,Terry grew up in Guild Street and attended HolyTrinity Infant School on Hawkins Lane. His secondary education was spent at Anglesey Secondary Modern in Clarence Street. Terry left school at 15 and served an apprenticeship in the building trade before he moved on to spend over 30 years working at the brewery of Ind Coope, which was taken over by Bass and finally Coors. Terry played local sport extensively, including cricket, football and squash. On retiring from playing football he spent 13 seasons serving Burton and District as a referee, attaining Class 1 status.
Married for almost 40 years to Jean, they have a son and daughter and two granddaughters. |
