Waste and Recycling Christmas Collections 2012/13

This year over the festive period the refuse and recycling collections in East Staffordshire will alter. The alteration affects properties that receive a collection on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

If your refuse and recycling due date is Tuesday 25th December (Christmas Day), your bins will be collected on Saturday 22nd December. If your collection date is Wednesday 26th December (Boxing Day) your collection will take place on Saturday 29th December and bins due to be collected on Tuesday 1st January (New Years Day) will now be collected on Saturday 5th January.

Up to 3 additional bags of the appropriate waste type will be collected with your blue and grey bins between Monday 24th December and Saturday 5th January on your collection day.  Flattened cardboard will also be collected at the side of your blue bin.

Brown bin collections will be continuing through the Christmas and New Year period to enable residents to recycle any leftover food waste.

If you have excess recyclables they can be taken to one of the recycling sites located throughout the borough.  Excess waste can be taken to the household waste site on Shobnall Road, Burton upon Trent or Pennycroft Lane, Uttoxeter.

If you need clarification on when your recycling and waste is to be collected or to request a collection calendar, please contact Customer Services on 0800 269098 or visit www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk

Please ensure that all refuse and recycling containers are out by 6.30am on collection day and removed from the pavement as soon as possible after collection.

After the festive period residents can recycle Christmas cards through the blue bin scheme and real Christmas trees through the brown bin scheme.  If you wish to recycle your real Christmas tree in your brown bin please ensure that the tree is in the brown bin and that the lid is fully closed, alternatively place it at the side of the brown bin and it will be collected.
