Following the successful launch of the Brewhouse Arts Centres Cinema Club, film revellers can enjoy the screening of more blockbusters in November and December.

On Saturday 24th November at 1.00pm, we will be showing ‘Brave’. ‘Brave is set in Scotland in a rugged and mythical time, features Merida, an aspiring archer and impetuous daughter of royalty. Merida makes a reckless choice that unleashes unintended peril and forces her to spring into action to set things right.

On Saturday 22nd December and Monday 24th December at 12.30pm, the Brewhouse will be showcasing ‘Arthur Christmas’. Arthur Christmas reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: ‘So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?’ The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the centre of the film is a story about a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns.
Both films will be charged at an introductory offer of £1.00.

The Cinema Club programme has already shown big blockbusters, such as Dark Knight Rising, special interest films, children’s films and other great classics.

Our programme has regular slots with a ‘Classic Film Matinees’ held every other Wednesday and ‘Kids Film Club’ being shown every other Saturday.

The ‘Classic film Matinees’ start at 3.00pm, with drinks served from 2.30pm, why not come in for a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits to socialise with fellow film fans.

Kids Film Club starts at 1.00pm. For children aged 6-12, and screenings will finish by 3pm.

Councillor Bernard Peters, Deputy Leader for Service Commissioning, said: “Following the launch of the Brewhouse Cinema Club families have already taken advantage of the excellent value and choice that the Cinema Club provides.

“With the winter months now closing in residents can enjoy the warm and intimate atmosphere at the Brewhouse and enjoy the fantastic films that are available.”
